The Federal Update
On January 20, 2013, Barack Obama was sworn in during a private ceremony to begin his second term as President of the United States. Several Cabinet Secretaries and other leading officials had resigned at the conclusion of the President’s first term, and replacements have been announced in some cases. The Winter 2013 edition of the Federal Yellow Book has been updated to reflect these changes as well as the typical staff changes and agency reorganizations that have occurred in the executive branch since the publication of the Fall 2012 edition.
Indexes
The Subject Index assists you in locating departments, agencies, and major offices by subject areas. Offices are listed alphabetically under as many as five headings, with the parent agency's abbreviation listed in parentheses after the office name.
The Organization Index assists you in locating all those internal sub-agencies and bureaus that you know but have difficulty locating because you don't know the parent organization. This index will also acquaint you with the countless bureaus, administrations, agencies, institutes, commissions, etc., throughout the Executive Branch.
