William “Bill” Ball

Subcommittee on Water, Power, and Oceans (Committee on Natural Resources)

On April 20, 2017 the chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources, Representative Rob Bishop (R-UT, 1st), announced the appointment of William Ball as the new staff director for the majority on the Subcommittee on Water, Power, and Oceans. In this new role, Ball now oversees the staff responsible for advising Republican committee members on matters relating to the country’s water resources, including federal irrigation projects, hydroelectric power projects, and fisheries management. Ball has been with the subcommittee since 2015, serving as a professional staff member under former Chairman John Fleming (R-LA, 4th) for the past two years. Prior to joining the committee, Ball worked for five years on the legislative staff of Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), where he focused on fisheries policy. View profile ↓

Office of Representative Ron Estes (R-KS, 4th)

In a closer-than-expected race last month, Representative Ron Estes (R) was elected to represent Kansas’ 4th District following former Representative Mike Pompeo’s (R) appointment as CIA director. Since his swearing-in on April 25, 2017 Rep. Estes has hired several key staff aides, including Joshua Bell as chief of staff and Debbie Luper as district director. Bell had previously served as chief of staff to Kansas Lieutenant Governor Jeff Colyer before moving on to Rep. Estes’s DC office. Luper, who will run the Wichita office, previously served as chief of staff for Kansas Senator Ty Masterson. View profile ↓
